Zeynep Tuğ

Born in 1977 in Adıyaman, the artist graduated from the Department of Geography at Istanbul University and completed her master’s degree in Cultural Heritage and Tourism at the same institution. She is currently continuing her education in the Graphic Design Department at Istanbul University.

Her artistic journey began with charcoal drawing in 1999. In 2004, she started studying botanical painting and miniature art with Orhan Dağlı and continued her training with Özcan Özcan. Between 2011 and 2017, she studied miniature art under Reza Hemmatirad, from whom she received her certification (icazetname). She also received a Miniature Workshop Certificate from Istanbul Design Center and participated in various projects and exhibitions as part of Hemmatirad’s team.

Between 2002 and 2012, she worked as a teacher and took part in several educational projects. In the field of art, she has created commissioned miniature works for institutions such as Eyüp Municipality, the Turkish Court of Accounts, publishing houses, and for the TRT1 television series Vuslat, where her work was integrated into the storyline. She also contributed as a subject expert to the Ministry of Education’s official miniature arts textbook for vocational high schools.

She continues her artistic practice in her personal studio, where she is dedicated to preserving and transmitting the traditional knowledge and techniques of miniature art to future generations.
