Ayşenur Aksu

Ayşenur Aksu was born in Istanbul in 1989. After completing her Quran memorization at Suadiye Tuba Girls’ Quran Course, she graduated from the Faculty of Theology at Anadolu University. She is currently continuing her education in the Department of Child Development at Istanbul University. In addition to her academic achievements, Aksu stands out for her interest in and passion for art, aiming to explore the depths of traditional arts.

In 2016, she decided to deepen and develop her knowledge of Turkish Islamic arts by starting tezhip (Islamic illumination) training with Kadriye Bayraktar. She enrolled in the Üsküdar İSMEK Traditional Arts Course, where she received comprehensive education on the aesthetic and technical aspects of traditional Turkish arts. During this process, she learned tezhip with a historical perspective, striving to improve herself in this field. In 2017, she continued her studies at the İSMEK Turkish Islamic Arts Vocational School to further her training.

Her growing interest and competence in tezhip led Aksu to join the Perdah Art Studio, established by Kadriye Bayraktar, in 2018. Here, she began more intensive training and practice. The work she has produced in the studio has shown significant development both technically and artistically. Moreover, in addition to her training, Aksu continues to advance by blending traditional arts with a modern perspective, creating unique works.

In addition to her art, Aksu is highly interested in social responsibility projects and contributing to society through art. She aims to share her knowledge and pass this art on to future generations. Through her ongoing education and work at the Perdah Art Studio, she is not only advancing her personal artistic practice but also inspiring art enthusiasts.
